Humanity is in a desperate struggle for survival. The covenenant have lead a path of destruction all the way to Earth. Despite all this, humanity is in no way united against the alien threat. The freelancers, a secret government program used to further enhance Spartans is now being used by the Secretary of Defense to wipe out all opposition to his power. The spartans and marines fight a losing battle as their leaders fall systematically to the seemingly unstoppable freelancers. The covenant are starting their invasion, and an un-united Earth stands no chance against their massive army. However, there is still hope. You are a spartan, a genetically enhanced supersoldier capable of otherwise impossible feats. Though you and your friends are small in numbers, it always takes someone to start the match that lights the fire. (Jesus that was corny lol) Anyways, this is a remake of ToT. Covenant is invading, and the freelancers are killing any sort of leadership the world has. To avoid all the confusion of the last roleplay; you can have two characters. Either two spartans, or one spartan and one freelancer. I'll assume the role of the corrupt secretary of defense, also leader of project freelancer. As a freelancer, you have the options of three weapons, and you also have an AI implanted into your armor. This AI can act as a character if you want, but it can also give you whatever ability your heart desires providing it isn't extremely powerful. These characters generally do generic evil stuff, but they can have whatever personality you want and defect to the spartan's cause if you wish. As a spartan, you also have the options of three weapons. Generally good guys, but they can also have whatever personality you want. Providing you don't have another freelancer character they can also defect. General role-playing rules apply. Applications aren't necessary (just describe your character in your first few posts), and you're welcome to just bring back an old character.

Standard Assault Rifle: This is basically an upgraded version of a regular assault rifle except for the fact it has infinite ammo! You up for shooting everywhere for a madman? Shotgun: Old fashioned? No way, this gun's ammo can pierce any armour known to man, even twenty sheets of steel back to back. You like seeing a head being separated from the rest of the body? Sniper Rifle: The scope of this gun has been greatly enhanced to be able to see anything at a range of up to seven miles. Packing an extremely high caliber bullet, this is a true one-shot one-kill weapon. Plasma grenades: If you throw one of these on an alien it will stick to him, and well... Let's just say your battle armour will be a little stained. Energy sword: Yep, you hear me, a sword that can cut through ANYTHING. When an alien gets too close for comfort, draw this little thing and watch as body parts fly. Kaiser Shock Gun- A strong electrical based gun. Shoots a flurry of electricity, and the electrical bolts treated with some rad poisening, making it even better...or should I say deadlier. Yea, that would be a lot better word (> ). So, if you would like to see the aliens shaking uncontrolably before they die, then this is the gun you want. Weapon used with permission from taCAT Studios, Inc © Neuro-Particle Rifle: Shoots a particle beam consisting of deadly neuro-poisons. Useful againsted armored enemies and assassinations because it shoots a nearly invisible beam. About the only way to see the beam is to look through it, because if you look through it it causes a slight distortion on the other side. Delta Team helmet sensors and Infra-red scanners, as well as Distortion mode on the helmet goggles. Weapon used with permission from taCAT Studios, Inc © Battle Rifle: The newest type of Rifle, its full name is a XZ-44 Battle Rifle. It shoots a heavy shot, and can shoot them every .98 seconds. It is powerful enough to level a Elite in three or four shots, something very few weapons can boast of. So, you want your enemies dropping like stone? Well, I'd, and maybe you'd, take this weapon. Weapon used with permission from taCAT Studios, Inc © Rocket Launchers Great for destroying vehicles, building, and large groups of troops, these weapons have proven classics are the best. The blast affects anything in a ten meter radius, so be careful where you aim! Fuel Rod Cannons A captured Cov. weapon, fuel rods are great for bombarding vehicles, infantry, and buildings. Once out of energy, they can't be reloaded, so it's a use and then chuck weapon.

(( Just a post to get things started, I'm not expecting much until Tcat and Shadow hopefully come back ))
Scorpio crawled slowly through the grass, his pure black armor completely invisble in the darkness of the night. Strapped on his back was his sniper rifle, and on either side of his waist were his two un-activated energy swords. Scorpio was here to kill his assigned target, marked specifically by the director of project freelancer. Although freelancers generally worked in teams, this assination required a sole marksman. "Now we play the waiting game..." Scorpio muttered quietly as he began what would be a long wait for his target. He had no clue who this man was, but he had been given his orders and he was expected to carry them out, just as any ordinary soldier.
As he was waiting his AI, Alpha suddenly appeared. The AI that all freelancers had were smaller peices of what was once a "complete" AI. The director had that AI broken down so that he could have basically his own private army of soldiers with cerain AI abilities that would be suited to whatever assignment he needed them for. Alpha was the AI's intelligence, which was part of why Scorpio was such a deadly hitman. Alpha could calculate the trajectory of a shot, locate enemies, and formulate hundreds of possible scenarios within a few seconds; enabling Scorpio to snipe without the need of a scouter. "Hey Alpha, what's up?" asked Scorpio. Despite being forced to be inside Scorpio, the two maintained a good relationship, which added to the lethality of their pairing. "The target will be here in exactly a minute and 23 seconds. With him are two human guards, unarmed." replied Alpha.
"Alright, thanks." said Scorpio as he took out his sniper rifle, his scope already adjusted for the shot by Alpha. The target exited the ship he had landed in. He appeared to be some sort of official, he was dressed in a suit and carrying a case handcuffed to his hand. As Scorpio was about to take the shot, a message appeared in his HUD stating "After eliminating target retrieve the case." Slightly annoyed by the interference, he took the shot, hitting his target right in the medulla oblongata, the ideal place for a shot.
The target instantly fell dead, and Scorpio quickly stood up, holstering his sniper rifle on his back and now brandishing his duel energy swords. "Two bodyguards are alerted to your presence, advsing you to eliminate before they alert any others in the area" said Alpha in his head. "Got it." said Scorpio as he suddenly appeared out of the tall grass, and quickly eliminated the two guards. He cut off the handcuffs from the case, and grabbed it before running back into the grass. A little further out was an ultra-quiet ship waiting to pick him up. Just as he entered, the director put his hands out, beckoning for the briefcase. "Gonna tell me who that was and what that is?" asked Scorpio, somewhat rudely. The director, now accustomed to Scorpio's demeanor laughed softly. "That, Scorpio was the directot of the Spartan program. And this this briefcase? A computer containing the locations of all active spartans."

After a thirty minute flight, the ship landed in one of project freelancer's secret underground facilities. They were nearly impenetrable, and built miles underground to ensure they weren't discovered. This particular facility was somewhat special to Scorpio, as it was where he had been assigned his codename and had Alpha implanted into him. "Welcome home, Scorpio" said the director as they both exited the ship.
Waiting for the director's arrival was every freelancer ((this is where the freelancers will start off btw )) waiting to hear their orders. The director took his place atop a podium, where he would address the assorted soldiers. "You have all done well. With all the main power players gone, I am now in nearly total control. My only opposition are those bothersome marines and spartans. However, I have now gained a device showing me the location of every single active spartan. The freelancers will now work in small squads (( every freelancer we control will be in a squad together )) hunting down the spartans and trying to recruit them to our cause. If they refuse, eliminate them."

(( Now a much shorter post to set up the spartans ))
Shifty sat down and leaned against a tree. Him and the few spartans (( you guys )), had decided to rest here for the night, and he was extremely tired from all the running they had been doing the past few days. Shifty and his friends had no contact with the rest of the world, and were clueless to what was going on.
All of a sudden, a message appeared on his HUD "Director eliminated, spartan program terminated." "Guys, we got a problem..." said Shifty.
(( Anyone is welcome to become the leader of the few spartans of the camp, but not the new director of the program. ))

The setting sun illuminated Calidus' firey red armor, causing it to shine even though it was a bit dingy, while his black visor simply absorbed the brilliant light. Occasionally a marine would inquire as to why the Spartan had such an obvious armor color. "The enemy could spot you miles off," they would say. Then, almost chidingly, he would explain how his specialty didn't require sneaky tactics and stealthy sniper shots. "I blow things up." he responds, indicating the imposing rocket launcher strapped to his back. "Though sometimes I am more personal." He lifts a plasma grenade from his belt and examines it thoughtfully before gently returning it. "And when I move in..." A shell quickly exited the chamber as Calidus cocked the shotgun he had been holding, one-handed.
Before sitting with the rest of the group, Calidus reached toward his back and grabbed hold of the rocket launcher. With such a large weapon it is important to make sure that one doesn't jam it into the ground as they sit down. Being the last to sit, he barely had time to get comfortable before Shifty spoke. "Whatever it is, I'm sure it can be fixed with the proper application of high explosives." he said confidently.

"The director of our program was just assassinated and any remaining spartans are being hunted by the freelancers. Have a nuke with you by any chance?" Shifty said, trying to remain positive despite the current situation.
Trying to stay focused, he took to cleaning his battle rifle and making sure his shotgun was loaded. His energy sword lay next to him un-activated, but he wasn't too worried about that. His armor was white with a red trim, the complete opposite of his brother Scorpio.

"Heh. Not with me, but I'm sure we could find one if need be. Then again, it couldn't hurt to have one around." Calidus said. He fiddled with one of the plasma grenades as a brief silence fell over the camp. "Well, what's our next step?" he asked.

"I'm not really sure... Our mai-" Shifty was cut off as several bullets whizzed by his head. He instantly swept around the tree, taking cover and firing randomly at the invisble attackers. "They're not freelancers, I would be dead already if they were. Don't blow them up Calidus, they might be marines mistaking us for freelancers." "Hey, we're spartans, quit shooting at us!" yelled Shifty at them.

Calidus paused with his finger hovering over the safety on the launcher. "Good thinking." he said, keeping the launcher on his shoulder as a precaution. 'It's not going to matter much who they are if they keep sending bullets this way.' he thought as Shifty shouted at the attackers.
