"If you say so." Calidus said only moments before they warthogs made their abrupt stop. After noticing the signal he moved quickly to where the marines where. While he had considered commenting on the suddenness the non-verbal gestures dissuaded him. Upon arriving at the trapdoor, Calidus was surprised that he had managed to fit himself and his gear down the ladder.
As the elevator descended, he looked around at the many vehicles and fixated on a Scorpion. "Now that is the kind of vehicle I need." he said quietly, hoping he would get the chance to use it. The marines at the elevator seemed friendly enough, but then again any help would be appreciated, especially from Spartans. "Well, unless you two have any objection I'm going to go try out that tank."

"Go for it. I'm gonna get some sleep, let's meet back here in two hours and decide what we're gonna do next." As Shifty walked down the hallway leading towards the barracks, he noticed three spartans standing in the hallway talking to each other. "Hey, when'd you guys get here?" he asked, surprised to have already seen some other Spartans.
Scorpio, and the two other freelancers looked at him. "We came in about 5 minutes ago, a little behind some other guys." Scorpio was using a voice modifier, knowing that otherwise his brother would recognize him. "Alright, glad to see some other spartans around here. Guess I'll talk to you guys later."
As Shifty walked away, one of the freelancers looked at Scorpio. "Why'd you modify your voice?" she asked, somewhat surprised. "That's my brother, he'd recognize me otherwise. Alright, we'll split up and meet in at that elevator entrence in an hour. I'm gonna get a rough estimate of what and how man vehices they'e got."

Torrent overheard the question from that Spartan, Calidus. "Hate to break it to you, but those tanks are off limits, even for us Spartans. However, if you go down that side corridor, you might find the motor bikes quite interesting. Here, let me show you."
Torrent was typically never this friendly, but this Spartan intrigued him. There seemed to be something different about him, like he wasn't quite who he said he was. But he did not think this was a bad thing; perhaps he also worked for management on side jobs, just like him. Or maybe it was just his instincts being a little bit too protective. He didn't know. Wouldn't hurt to show the guy the motorbikes, one way or another.

As Shifty went to sleep, Scorpio walked through the cafeteria where some marines were eating and past two Spartans at the entrence to the elevator, who he overheard talking about tanks or something like that. He walked over to the entrence of the motorpool where the heavier vehicles like scorpions and warthogs were. Two marines were standing guard there, not allowing him to enter. "Sorry spartan, but no one is currently allowed in here," said one of the marines.
Scorpio revealed a datapad, syaing "I've been sent to take a record of how many vehicles we have, I'm under orders from the commander." The marines nodded, and let him through. Scorpio decided to begin with the more powerful vehicles and work down, since if he was cought he could at least send information about what the director actually cared about.

Calidus said he could find the bikes on his own, so Torrent kept walking. He noticed a Spartan going up the elevator to the mecahnics bay, odd because of the sparse amount of Spartans on the base, but figured he'd leave him alone. Clearly, the guy had a task that he was trying to accomplish.
So Torrent moved on, going up a different elevator to his room. If was bleak, small, containing a bed on the back wall, a desk and computer on the left wall, and a weapons cabinet on the right wall. Typical Spartan lodging. Torrent took off his helmet, and breathed in the air. The filters on his helmets were extremely advanced and almost felt exactly like the air would wihtout them, but Torrent could always tell a difference. He tossed the helmet on the bed, grabbed a battle rifle out of the case, and began to disassemble and reassemble -- a basic Spartan stress relief.

Scorpio finished going tough the vehicles and left the motorpool, the two marines not really bothering to talk to him. He went back down to the main level of the base, and saw his two comrades waiting for him. "We've still got an hour left, what are we gonna do?" asked the female freelancer from earlier. "Let's get some rest, chances are when we leave this place the marines aren't gonna like it."
They headed to the barracks, and entered a room where a spartan from earlier was. "Sorry about this, but there aren't any other rooms," said Scorpio as the three lay down on the empty beds.

Torrent looked at the three Spartans suspiciously, who barged in uninvited. They claimed there was no more rooms, but there was obvious an open wing on the other side which was recently constructed. It was not marked as lodging yet, but anyone who had been at the base before knew it was.
"I thought I knew most the Spartans at this base. Kind of odd that the three of you all barge in here...I don't know any of you guys. Why is that." He had been holding an assault rifle which he was about to disassemble...he decided he'd wait for a second before disassembling it. It never hurt to be careful.

Scorpio soon realized he had made a mistake deciding to get some sleep. "We got here a few minutes after you and those marines got here. I've been running errands for the commander, and these two were getting some food in the cafeteria."
(( Short post, but I couldn't really do much there lol ))

((Hopefully you can do more with this one))
Torrent paused for a second, weighing his options, before moving on. "Well, I'm not a commander or anything, but I haven't heard anything about new Spartans. You guys won't take offense if I just page up to the commander to make sure you're legit? With all these rumors about freelancers and some such running around...I'm not sure I even believe most of them, but it never hurts to be extra cautious."
Torrent turned to his computer, while keeping his head positioned so he could still see the three Spartans, and started to put in the password so he could contact the command room.

After he brief encounter with Torrent, Calidus decided that he would be better off leaving the vehicles alone. The marines were serious about what they were doing and, after all, the freelancers were spartans. It wasn't as if he believed that he was under suspision but there wasn't much sense in drawing such feelings toward him. Feeling restless as the possiblity of battle grew nearer, Calidus decided that he would wander the base and possibly find an armory. As his saying went, "You can never have enough explosives, and if you do, when they blow up you wont be around to worry about it anymore. Not to mention anyone you happened to be fighting."
