This roleplay is pretty heavily based off "Percy Jackson and the Olympians". It will be a bit like the school roleplays that are pretty popular nowdays, but a lot of time will be spent outside the camp. Though this involves a lot of Greek mythology, this is a modern roleplay. You are a half-blood, the son or daughter of a Greek god/godess. Your powers/abilities depend on who your parent is, though all half-bloods are naturally skilled in combat. You live in Camp Half-blood, where you train, play games such as capture the flag, and go on quests assigned by the gods. The Mist:
The mist is what stops normal human beings from seeing all the actions caused by you, the gods etc. If you pull out a weapon in front of them, it will appear as a harmless toy or item in their eyes due to it. The only thing I really require your character to have is a fatal flaw. Note the word fatal, so I don't mean bad acne or something like that. A fatal flaw is a flaw that could easily get you killed, or cause serious problems for you; like being afraid of heights. We'll all start out in a forest, attempting to make it to camp. Once you reach there you will be put in the cabin of whoever your parent is.I'm not going to list all the Greek gods for you guys, but the main rule is that for now you CANNOT be the child of of Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades. As for weapons, you can have as many as you heart desires, but you're limited to two magical items; whether it's a sword or some pair of shoes that lets you run fast. Anyways, here's the application. Name: Parent: Age (13-18 if you would): Appearance: Personality: Fatal Flaw: Weapons: Magical items (if your weapon has some sort of enchantment, describe it here): Powers: Brief history:

Name: Shawn Hesinger
Parent: Apollo
Age (13-18 if you would): 16
Appearance: Shawn has brown hair and eyes, and tan skin. He generally wears a t-shirt and shorts all year round for reasons explained later in this post.
Personality: Shawn is a generally optimistic guy, and is pretty friendly.
Fatal Flaw(s): Shawn's fatal flaw is that he finds it incredibly difficult to trust others who he does not already know, a product of where and how he grew up.
Weapons: Shawn carries with him a beatiful golden bow, and two handed sword with an elongated hilt.
Magical items (if your weapon has some sort of enchantment, describe it here): Shawn's bow has an enchanted quiver, which gives an endless supply of whatever arrows he wants. His sword is extremely interesting, as the hilt has been modified considerably. It can be moved up and down the blade, making it an extremely versatile weapon. It can a glaive, spear, or a sword. At the bottom of the hilt is a magnificent gem, which allows Shawn to send flames out of the weapon.
Powers: Being the child of the Sun god Apollo, Shawn can use fire and heat in many different ways. First, he can control his body temperature, meaning he could swim naked in freezing water and feel perfectly fine. He can also create flames, which he mainly uses to light a fire or use as a torch. Next, he can also use his control of fire in conjuncture with his arrows and sword.
Most notably, he can use fire to propel himself and fly for a limited amount of time; this is extremely exhausting however and he only uses it in dire straits.
Brief history: Shawn was born in Britain to a film actress there. She thought that having the child would be her ticket to Olympus and live with the gods, but once she found out otherwise she abondoned him in the streets once he turned ten. From there on Shawn grew up in the slums of London, eating whatever he could. One thing he noticed however, was that just about everyone would be wrapped up in several layers and still be cold during the winter, he felt just in fine his shirt and shorts.
After a few years of living in the slums, he found a match and lit it, simply due to boredom. After a few minutes, Shawn discovered he could manipulate the flame; make it larger, move it around, etc. Soon after Apollo appeared, and officially claimed him to be his son. He told Shawn about Camp Half-Blood, gave him a bow and a sword, and had him smuggled on to a ship heading for America. Soon upon arriving, Shawn ran into a few others like him (you guys) and they went about making it to the camp.

Name: Galen Meader
Parent: Dionysus
Age (13-18 if you would): 18
Appearance: Galen is about 6 feet tall with dark hair and eyes. His curly hair comes to his shoulders and he maintains a full stubble.
Personality: Galen tends to be easy-going and calm but can be driven into a mad frenzy (see fatal flaw).
Fatal Flaw: Galen's fatal flaw is also one of his strengths. He is capable of driving himself into a frenzy that greatly increases his strength and resiliance but dramatically dulls his senses, especially his reasoning. Occasionally this frenzy is set off by situations and not by choice.
Weapons: He carries a hardened steel dagger with no special properties. He also carries a thyrsus.
Magical items (if your weapon has some sort of enchantment, describe it here): His thyrsus is wrapped in ivy and topped with a pinecone. Despite being made of fennel it has never broken, even against a weapon of metal.
Powers: Aside from his frenzy, Galen has control over vines and has some minor ability in spawning these plants.
Brief history: Galen's life before eighteen is shrouded in a drunken haze and the time before his wild partying has long since been lost in his mind. He has always had a strange tolerance to intoxicating breverages that he always attributed to the drunken father that deserted him.
At eighteen, he woke in a forest with little recollection of the night before. In the distance he caught a glimpse of a strange creature and began to follow after it. He eventually came to realise that the creature he was following was a satyr. After a week of trailing the satyr it turned and revealed Galen's parentage to him. He was presented his thyrsus and dagger before the creature bounded off deeper into the forest.
For the next three days, Galen seemed to wander aimlessly around until he came upon others. It was then that he learned of the place known as Camp Half-Blood.
ooc: That seems a bit disjointed but it's w\e

(( Dionysus is definetly the best god, lol. ))
Shawn yawned as he lay up against a tree, and took his I-pod earbuds out, apparently falling asleep with his music blasting in his ears. The group had camped out in a forest that ran alongside a highway, and thus the sound of cars could be heard in the distance. It was still dark outside, and the fire had gone out so he merely snapped his fingers and it began once more. He looked over at Galen, who he figured was a year or two older than him.
"There's an exit coming up with a few restaurants, we can stop there and grab some food before we make the final push to camp, unless you've got a different idea mate," he said as he flashed a bag of regular mortal cash his dad had given him. Shawn had nearly gotten rid of his British accent, but still occasionally used words generally associated with "British English".

ooc: Lol, I know right?
"Mate? Where did that come from?" Galen asked as he grabbed his thyrsus that had been leaning against a nearby tree. The tree had one continous poison ivy vine wrapped around it with much space in between each level. In the days that he had wandered, Galen had come to learn of his ability to manipulate vines and thought it best to hone his abilities before they reached the camp. Without waiting for an answer he continued, "I have no better suggestions so it would seem that your plan is the best."

Shawn nodded as he got up and put his sword and bow on his back, he muttered a few words under his breath and they suddenly turned dissapeared, and would only return when he wished them to. "Grew up in England, that's where mate and the slight accent comes from" Shawn said as he slung the bag of cash over his shoulder and started heading where he saw a huge McDonalds sign.

"Hm, England." Galen said without any intention of learning more of Shawn's origin. Galen kept pace alongside him as he headed toward the exit. After a while he asked, "So what do you know of Camp Half Blood?" While his new found powers and heritage were interesting, he wanted to know what he could do with them. Sure, he could wrap a vine around a tree and carry a thyrsus, but what good was it?

(( Figured I'd make a more experiencec character in addition to a newbie, you're welcome to as well. ))
Name: Jake Hall Parent: Hermes
Age (13-18 if you would): 18
Appearance: Jake has black hair and blue eyes. His hair is slightly long, and covers his eyesbrows and ears. He generally wears a shirt and jeans, though wears a sweatshirt should it go cold. A die-hard Yankees fan, he often also sports a New-Era Yankees hat.
Personality: Jake is a pretty nice guy, though he is extremely sarcastic.
Fatal Flaw: Jake's flaw can both hurt and help himself, and others. He is extremely loyal to friends, and would forget an important mission to save one of them.
Weapons: Jake weilds two daggers, mianly using them both at the same time.
Magical items (if your weapon has some sort of enchantment, describe it here): jake doesn't wear his hat just to show off his support of the team, it is capable of making him invisble to monsters, humans, and half-bloods. He can choose who does not want to appear visible to, or allow anything to see him. Both of his daggers have also been poisoned with a substance that will lock up muscles in the body should it make contact with a vein or artery.
Powers: Being a son of Hermes, Jake is capable of running extremely fast over a long period of time, and thus has great cardio. Even without his hat, he is a master of stealth and thus an ideal infiltrator.
Brief History: Jake grew up in a bad neighborhood, and was tought how to pickpocket soon after he was able to walk. He used his skill as a means to feed himself and his mother, who generally spent all their cash on drugs, a result of her questionable friends. Although he hardly ever was caught, Jake also learned he could run extremely fast, able to outrun anyone who caught him trying to steal.
One day he went to try and grab the wallet out of a man's pocket, but he promptly turned around and grabbed his arm. He took him to a nearby restaurant, bought him some food and informed him of his status as a demigod, or half-blood. At first Jake laughed it off, but the man revealed himself as the one who had taught Jake everything he knew about stealing. As he told Jake about Camp-Halfblood he told him that he was his father, Hermes and flew off.
After years of training at camp and completing a quest every now and then, Jake rose to the position as head of the Hermes cabin.

"Well I hear-" Shawn was cut off as out of nowhere someone appeared right in front of them ((if you make an experienced char, just put him with Jake lol. )). Shawn instantly pulled out his sword and swung it wildly at him, but the figure simply ducked under it and before Shawn could even see grabbed the sword out of his hands. "Nice sword, I'm sure you'll actually learn to be able to use it at camp," Jake said as he tossed it back to him. "Oh yeah, I'm Jake, head of the Hermes cabin at Camp Half-Blood. The director of camp, Chiron sent me to make sure you guys made it there in one piece."
"And how can we trust you?" Shawn asked, extremely mad he had beaten so easily. "It's your decision whether you trust me or not," Jake said as he spun a pen around that would turn into his dagger if he clicked it, "But I'm the only way you'll make to camp. That map you got is about a year old, and we've moved locations since."

ooc: For the time being I will stick with one.
Galen gave little concern to the new arrival but he did draw Galen's attention. One thing he had remembered from the past years was that enemies tended to attack from behind if they could. What kind of person would make themselves known if they had malicious intentions? So he simply watched, thyrsus in hand, as the event unfolded.
'He seems a bit arrogant.' he thought as the new arrival returned the sword. Shortly after, he learned of Jake's position and considered it a understandable reason for his initial observation. Galen smiled softly as Shawn inquired as to Jake's trustworthiness while he himself shrugged it off and figured he would get where he was going either way. "I guess your dad doesn't care for you too much." he commented neutrally, "But then again I wasn't even give a map, let alone an old one."
ooc: Going to assume that is where you got the map from...
